Software developer Steve lives in Leipzig, and has worked with Ailuna since the app started being built. He studied computer science at university, also in Leipzig, and then spent 6 years working in-house for an ad agency before moving to work for Meetle, a geosocial messenger app, which many of the Ailuna team were also involved with.
Steve loves to experience and learn about new technology, and to develop his skills in a hands-on way. Ailuna allows him to do this whilst working with a fantastic team who all want to help make a difference.
When he’s not at work, Steve likes to do things that may seem like work to other people! Software development is his passion and he has a particular interest in game development.
Alongside 10 others, he works for a small game development studio, which is working on developing a new story-driven action adventure puzzle game. We’re very excited to play!
Steve also leads guest lectures at the university and once a month holds a networking event for fellow game developers to share ideas and learn from each other. He also loves bad jokes, so we’re looking forward to our next team catch up so he can practice on the AIluna team!
In order to live more sustainably, Steve has reduced his meat intake and either cycles or walks to most places, as he doesn’t own a car.
If Steve had the power to make a change in the world to make it a better place, he would give people a stronger sense of empathy. He feels that empathy is the core thing that would make our lives and the world a better place. This is because empathy helps us understand how people are feeling and why they behave in the way they do, which in turn helps us change our own behaviours to better interact with others.
